Made this deck for fun...really wanted a Gandalf/Theoden deck for whatever reason and am 3-2 with it on Gemp so far. It has its holes (lots of them) and will get destroyed by several shadows (that's the truth) but I have had fun with it so far.

As an observation, I should probably swap Frodo with Old Bilbo's Heir for the Gandalf signet even though I am not using Trust Me As You Once Did. The deck lacks healing which could be solved with more copies of Gandalf. Birchseed is a boss for cycling. The site path needs more battlegrounds!

Thoughts?

I like the fresh idea. Deck looks really fun!

I definitely agree with using an unhasty, but is there any particular reason for using Birchseed rather than Lindenroot? For only extra 1 twilight you get the strength 10 plus the gametext that might come in handy every once in a while.

With all of those AWINL I would almost recommend starting another cost 2 cannon fodder companion alongside Theoden and then swapping the extra copies of him for Gandalf. It should ensure Gandalf coming out early, and then you can start a solid Third Marshall to soak up some wounds and die valiantly. Definitely a judgement call and it could go either way, as you have lots of possessions for Theoden but many events for Gandalf.

Pretty straightforward shadow, looks like. The nice thing about site control Uruks is that if you run into heavy condition control on your opponent's FP, you still have some solids minions for a beatdown.

I'd look forward to seeing some replays!

Hey dmaz, thanks for the response.

Birchseed rather than Lindenroot was simply a judgment call. This deck doesn't choke as well as I thought it might, so that may be worth a switch.

As for the extra copies of Gandalf, with so few companions I think that it is the best option for healing. Have Patience could equal another two or three minions, and I certainly don't want that.

Shadow ran into some problems in this one, but the Free Peoples did what they had to do against Berserker Uruks:

It's never going to be the most competitive deck, but it is fun for now.
