The Smoky Tales of Hobbits and Men in Moria
« on: October 26, 2015, 09:32:51 AM »
FotR Tales/Moria

Starting:
Ring-bearer: Frodo, Old Bilbo's Heir
Ring: The One Ring, Isildur's Bane
Merry, Friend to Sam
Pippin, Friend to Frodo
Sam, Son of Hamfast

Adventure deck:
Hobbiton Party Field
Breeland Forest
Council Courtyard
Mithril Mine
The Bridge of Khazad-dum
Dimrill Dale
Anduin Wilderland
Shores of Nen Hithoel
Tol Brandir

Free Peoples Draw Deck:
3x Aragorn, Heir to the White City
2x Boromir, Son of Denethor
2x Bilbo, Well-spoken Gentlehobbit
1x Filibert Bolger, Wily Rascal
1x Aragorn's Bow
1x Aragorn's Pipe
2x Armor
2x Flaming Brand
1x Bilbo's Pipe
1x Hobbit Sword
2x Longbottom Leaf
3x Old Toby
1x Red Book of Westmarch
1x Sting
1x The Gaffer's Pipe
1x Thror's Map
1x Mithril-coat
3x Hobbit Intuition
3x Hobbit Stealth
4x Gondor Bowmen
3x Consorting With Wizards
1x O Elbereth! Gilthoniel!
1x There and Back Again

Shadow Draw Deck:
2x Cave Troll of Moria, Scourge of the Black Pit
4x Goblin Runner
4x Goblin Scavengers
2x Goblin Scrabbler
4x Goblin Sneak
2x Guard Commander
4x Moria Scout
1x The Balrog, Flame of Udun
3x Orc Ambusher
1x Úlairë Enquëa, Lieutenant of Morgul
1x Úlairë Nertëa, Messenger of Dol Guldur
4x Goblin Scimitar
4x Goblin Armory
3x Goblin Swarms
1x Plundered Armories
2x Relics of Moria
2x They Are Coming

Well, it's clunky. It's not perfect. Bid high, grab Bilbo and peel the burdens with Sam before throwing him in front of Bill Ferny (or, hopefully, someone a little stronger). The card drawing engine is amazing, but you put out some risk with one or two pretty expensive early sites to set up.

Bilbo's Pipe recycles Gondor Bowmen, which draw cards with Red Book.

Moria side is pretty standard, or what I like to run. Plundered Armories is an unusual one for me, but why not if I have the space?

Deck probably doesn't need to be parred down with all of the drawing and cycling. I've used it in one game so far. Lost Pippin and Sam at site two, but it didn't seem to make much a difference without them. Naturally, Nazgul (the prevailing meta right now) would be a tough match up.
