« on: April 27, 2009, 07:40:24 PM »
Does anyone know where I can find a list of how each promo card was distributed??
Like through magazines, tourneys, etc..

Any help would be great,
Thanks!

all promo cards are listed above. In the top of this site you have a line of numbers. Just click on 0 and you'll see.

The 0W were part of the Triumph and Menace series for LOTRO

And in what program or what tournament did you get them and are they allowed in normal play? I guess not.

You got them in the official LOTRO TCG online program as digital versions only. I forget how you got them. And no they were never legal in anything ever lol except maybe online social games, and even then im not sure!

Why would they make cards that you could never use?

They could be used in LOTROnline while it was still alive.

IIRC, they were legal in 2 formats: "Online Open" and "Online Standard".

Way overpowered, so probably right up a lot of alleys on this board.

Remember that their special text (Triumph/Menace) only triggered infrequently, based on some probability calculations and certain rules.

Don't worry, I'm well aware of how they played and how to abuse them.

were there specific formulas? do you know well enough to explain it to a poor little n00b like me?

basically, the more events you used as a free peoples player, the greater the chance your triumph cards would trigger. it's harder to rely on the menace cards as a shadow player, because it depends on what your opponent does: the more tokens they put into the pool throughout the game, the greater the chance your menace cards will trigger.

knowing that, you can easily see how sam could be broken in an online open format deck revolving around shire countryside and shadowplay/unheeded. toss in a bunch of pumps along with that stuff and sit back.

how about dwarven escort in a dwarf drawing engine? 'nuff said, yeah?

aragorn and defend it and hope (& no travellers in this land) along with a boromir domt/stewards' legacy engine and citadel of minas tirith? fuggedaboutit.

really, just too many possibilities. i could go on for a while.

I get why they'd be broken, I just don't get how it triggered.  Was there any specific formula?  some are definitly more broken than others...nazgul> Army of sauron
dwarf warrior>Legolas
