Remember a month or two before CC permanently went down...I had posted a thread on this LOTR fan site:

Anyway, this site seems to always being updated with more awesome stuff.

I would like to to bring the spotlight on a bunch of hilarious, spoofed images. Here's a promo image:

What do you mean disabled? I see it just fine... Do you have some kind of internet filter?

It defintely is not a bad image. It's humorous. Not bad humor though. Is there such thing as bad humor?

It's disabled because AU doesn't allow hotlinking. It takes up website bandwidth. Generally, only directly link if you have the image saved at an image-hosting site like Photobucket or Imageshack. Those sites don't mind the bandwidth usage so much.

What's Going on??  just visit the site, if the images won't show up here, which they are for me for some absolutely bizarre reason, you probably have an over-protective internet filter, which is my guess.  Kralik.......maybe he knows something about this.

Like I said, it's not a filter. It's something the website does automatically, although I don't know why you're still seeing the image. (Unless it has to do with the internet cache, perhaps) When you directly link to an image, that saps some of the host's bandwidth, which the host paid for. So a lot of sites have begun to use tactics which redirect "hotlinked" images to a replacement, such as the above. Use an image-hosting site to post direct image links.

The one I posted was linked from my Photobucket account. Actually that replacement image is one of the most courteous I've seen. Some sites gleefully use something considerably beyond PG-13. :-X

Weird though how some people can see them all.
