What Did You Discover?

So this is a deck I have been wanting to make for awhile but never had the cards, but now I have deck list and Gccg!

Any feed back would be great.

Free Peps general idea is to kill as many minions during Maneuver and Archery phases, if anyone survives have someone fight Legolas and kill em off with the bow, or Gimli with his axe. If all else fails discard Pippin to kill em off.

Shadow is Trackers with some fun conditions.

I play an unbound hobbit deck.  It works real well to play shadow play x4, unheeded x4, knocked on the head x4 double up on gorn's bow and use ranger's sword from set 1.  drop lego's gear and remove all the dwarf stuff.  use a light in his mind for burden control.  The only thing missing is condition removal.  you could run greyhame with deep in thought or grown suddenly tall

You should have Merry and Pippin in your starting fellowship otherwise Gimli and Legolas are worthless. Then, if you plan to use cards such as Quick As Maybe, use Gimli as your Ring-Bearer.

I was thinking about using merry and pippin in the starting and pulling Gimli or Legolas using one of the ttt sites, but i was trying to use keep the three hunter character cards in the deck so no Gimli Ring-Bearer.

Oh yea I forgot about shadow play, thanks. A light in his mind would be great i did have sorry for everything but i took it out to keep deck size down. I think i will drop Gimli's gear and add greyhame in and see how that works.

Thanks everyone for your feed back.

Anyone have something for my shadow side?

I think people get fooled into using Uruk Hunter because he is strength 12. But he sucks. Four copies of Weary would serve you much better.

I don't know that I would use Saruman's Snows since you are already susceptible to archery fire (I don't think you really have enough vitality for that extra exertion here and there). I would probably rather see some extra cheap minions to absorb archery. Maybe Grima, Wormtongue who can double-dip and help you out with companions bearing [Isengard] conditions in addition to their usual fares.

Grima, Wormtongue is a must for your deck. Otherwise, every minion you will play will die to Durin. Vengeance could also be helpful vs him as well. I'm not a big fan of Saruman, I'm pretty sure that 1 copy of him would be enough.

I run a tracker deck and the most of my kills were with this combo:
Weary or Many Riddles on a comp, Saruman, SotE and Uruk Searcher... very often a Broad-bladed sword is needed and with the help of Vengeance or Kill Them Now, nothing can stop him... Uruk Searcher is my favorite [Isengard] tracker. I can't even count the times I killed Durin... but I think Legolas died most at his hands... so very easy to get to him with Saruman, SotE.

Regarding the Broad-bladed sword... Imagine this: 100 elven archers and 1 Uruk-hai with Broad-bladed sword... they all fire but his sword is so broad, not one arrow gets to him... some sword, eh? ;)

I forgot about Uruk Searcher. He is very good and makes me like Saruman, SotE.

Saruman, SOtE has got to be one of my favorite isengard cards--being able to manipulate the Assignment phase I think is one of the strongest tactics a shadow player can employ.

No being able to Discard abunch of Companions is annoying to the max what if you have Saruman and he assigns minions to companions and Freeps where ok with all of the choices and wastes all of those minions, Waste of 4 points

If I am not mistaken, Broad Bladed Sword says, "Bearer cannot take wounds." Or maybe "may not take wounds." Regardless, that is different than a card like High Vantage which "prevents wounds."

Thus, Broad Bladed Sword only protects that one minion from 100 archery.

Like I said, this is only true if the text is "cannot/may not take wounds (except during skirmishes)" which I am 90% sure it is.

You are correct, the sword protects just that 1 Uruk, but still... it's funny if you imagine the situation... Uruk-hai should teach [Gondor] Men in armory business... What do you need a great shield twice your size if you got a Broad-bladed sword ;)

Not even William Wallace had one that big and he, so they say, had a really big one (I'm still talking about swords). ;)
