Hey,
I'm relatively new here by most accounts (registered back in July)... so I never got into posting a whole lot or hanging out with the other members back when the site was apparently much more active.
But ever since I
discovered this site, I have used it at least a couple times a month, sometimes more. Like someone else said, I don't always log in (unless I have something to post) but I am often on here reading through deck suggestions, rule explanations, and even just some of the old conversations.
Like others said, it really is the only site out there that still supports or has information about the LotR TCG. Which I still think is a phenomenal game. So it would be a real shame if it was shut down or vanished. At the very least, it would be nice to keep all of the posts/information up in a static form, so that at least the thousands of pages of help, suggestions and explanations are not lost to the world. In the age of everything being preserved on the internet (including the minutia of people's lives on Twitter/facebook/etc) it would suck if the collected lore/knowledge of LotR TCG was gone.
The community on here has been helpful explaining rules and answering my questions, so I would be sad to see it go. I still play LotR TCG at least monthly with a group of my friends/cousins, and would play weekly if I could see them more often. And I've bought more cards in the last 18 months than I had in the previous 5 years, so I have been getting more into it.
If I might ask, what prompted this question/discussion? Are there forum mods/site managers that are busy with other responsibilities, and need new people to step up and help out? Or is it a money thing to keep servers/site going? Or just wondering if there isn't enough need/activity to bother keeping it up? Or maybe just hoping to spur people back into activity, as this discussion page seems to show?
I'd be curious to know if there are problems/issues that the rest of the community could help with. Like make small donations to keep funding servers or have additional help with moderating or something. Or even just cleaning up old pages/removing unused sections to cut down on size/space.
Thanks for asking the community though. I'll be checking back here to see what else is decided/discussed.
