Promise Keeping/Threats
« on: September 16, 2011, 09:40:46 AM »
All right...I need convincing that when a character dies during a skirmish involving shelob or gollum, that when threats are placed, they trigger promise keeping.  Here's my reasoning:  How can that happen?  Are not threat wounds placed AFTER the skirmish is resolved, therefore promise keeping cannot be triggered because it can only be triggered during a skirmish?

Even the rulebook says as soon as either character (companion/minion) is removed (i.e. discarded/killed) the skirmish is immediately resolved.

Unless maybe someone could counter this and explain to me, thanks.

Use WTK's beloved search function :P. Here's one http://lotrtcgwiki.com/forums/index.php/topic,3491.0.html. I like TheJord's answer on the 6th post.

Also the Comprehensive rulebook is quite explicit about the end of skirmish:
"A skirmish phase ends after all actions triggered by winning or losing that skirmish have resolved."
New/old way to play Lord of the Rings online.
Give Gemp-LotR a try.
All sets are finished

Until you meet Faramir, Son of Denethor...
Until you meet any form of condition removal.
Until your opponent realises how to handle a Ninja Gollum.

The deck si strong but certainly NOT over powered. There is sim[ply too much removal to handle Promise Keeping in the maneuver, not to mention it costs a lot of cards to effective use They Stole It.
