Advice for card shop owners
« on: May 15, 2012, 09:00:40 PM »
Background:  I'm driving across the country and have tried to contact card shops along the way to see if they have LOTR or SWCCG product on a shelf somewhere.  I'm also making a list of my pet peeves in dealing with them.  On the off chance that someone on the boards owns a (non-primarily online) card shop, I offer the list to you:

1.  List yourself on google with a current address.  You don't have to pay for adds, just get your business name/address on their map
2.  Have a website about your store
3.  Include your store hours on the website
4.  List a way for people to contact you on your website.  It can be a phone # or an e-mail form (which also reduces spam), and having both of those is best

If you happen to pass through the Kansas City area, go to Collector's Cache (http://www.collectorscache.com/Default.aspx?tabid=9&tabindex=0). They don't have as many LotR card as they used to (thanks primarily to me) but their stock is still fairly high. They also have a fair amount of SWCCG.
